Baker Street Station
At the junction of Baker Street and Marylebone Road, it lies in Travelcard Zone 1 and has five different lines. It opened in 1863 as one of the original stations of the Metropolitan Railway (MR), the world’s first underground rail. Today there are ten platforms, the most of any station on the network. Outside the Marylebone Road exits, a very large statue of Sherlock Holmes celebrates the fictional detective’s link with 221B Baker Street which is a museum.
Unique tilework of Sherlock Holmes, only made for this station.
