Rods’n’Reels
Introduction
Issued in 2002, the model is based on Gliddons, a Sidmouth family business for over 100 years. This unspoilt Regency town is on the Jurassic Coast - a World Heritage Site. Marilyn discovered Hazle Ceramics here in her childhood home, a place that still epitomises the essence of them.
The theme was shared with retired Old Curiosity Shop as an LP15. Just one is available of the 7-8 painted on this model.
This Victorian building with original lamp is off the Market Place. Marilyn remembers it as Gliddons Hardware with many items for sale hanging outside.

Every August the town is host to an international event. Singing and dancing around the streets, parks and seafront creates a relaxed party atmosphere, enjoyed by all ages and nations. Many people visit but it never feels too crowded. The week coincides with fabulous floral displays for the Britain in Bloom contest, organised by Hazle collector Joy Seward.
