Tylers Patch
Introduction
Issued in 2011 as one of the first pieces depicting Barleylands Craft Village. This studio is in two halves, with a workshop and a colour-coded fabric and accessories shop. It is run by Sue who quilts and teaches too. Quilts 4 London appears on the wall or door - as No 4 in the 2012 Olympic Series.
Dating from 1750, in 1851 this became the first bakery of authentic Melton Mowbray pork pies. Originally created by Mary Dickinson, her grandson John's name lives on in the shop.

Quilts 4 London
In June 2009 a project began with the aim of creating a gift for every 2012 Olympic and Paralympic athlete, quite simply for taking part. Pennants were chosen as they are traditionally exchanged at friendly sporting events. Some 14,000 pennants are being produced by quilting groups across the UK. A3 is the recommended size. As shown in the left photo of pennants already finished at the Tylers Patch studio, shapes and themes are varied and include the sports.
