Introduction
This painting could fit in either London section, as well as the Great Outdoors. Westminster Pier was very busy on our visit in October 2007. Issued in 2001, the model was based on the West Malvern Post Office. In 2007 the owners still lived above but the shop was due to be converted to a home.

River Thames
At 215 miles this must be the shortest river in the world with such a famous history. Taking the same course for 10,000 years, it is spanned by 134 bridges. The whole river moves in a spiral form. At Teddington, where tidal and non-tidal waters meet, the flow is 1.1 million gallons per day. A new Thames Barrier is needed, with tides ever higher as the land slowly submerges.
