From 1996 Hazle modelled a few long buildings as 3D pastille burners or moneyboxes. Shakespeare’s Birthplace was created as the latter in 1997. Its “Famous Beyond Words” exhibition includes an original First Folio and the ceremonial mace used by Will’s father as Bailiff of Stratford in 1568.

 Shakespeare’s Birthplace from the back garden. His parents John and Mary owned this largest house on Henley Street in Stratford-upon-Avon, with Will being third of eight children.

Shakespeare’s Works
The First Folio of his work was compiled by Shakespeare’s fellow actors Henry Condell and John Heminges in 1623, just seven years after his death. This indicates the esteem for Will’s writing within in his own era. Without it much would have been lost, including 18 plays. In a preface dedicatory poem, another playwright and admirer Ben Johnson referred to his contemporary as the “Sweet Swan of Avon!” and this stuck.
